Reflection
Honestly, throughout this course, I feel like I improved little to nothing. In all my years taking English courses, I’ve managed to maintain the same mark every year, an 86%, besides grade 10 english, a 96%, I think, which was Futures Forum (is that even a real english course?). Sure, I try to fix what I need to improve on but there is always something else that will bring my mark down. I find that I’m not really good at wording things which makes it really hard to get my points across. For my Wuthering Heights essay, my thesis was very vague and I didn’t specify what I was trying to prove and now for my Novel study essay, I created a thesis that was much more concise. I also forgot to integrate my quotes in the WH essay but this time I remembered. I really do try to fix my little mistakes but I still fail to improve on the bigger picture. I’m not that great at essay writing because my explanations for my points aren’t ever written correctly. I have it all in my head but I find it difficult to type it out or put it on paper. Other than that, what I liked about this course was that not all of the assignments were the same “write a paragraph about it.” I like how we could use different medias to present our information such as slideshows, videos, posters, group chats etc. It gave us a much wider range of options. Thanks Mrs.Linnerth for being a really great teacher teaching a course where majority of the student population dislikes!
